Central Heating Power Flush Across Teesside

A power flush deep-cleans your central heating system. It removes the sludge that builds up over years of use and restores circulation, so radiators heat fully and the boiler stops working against a blocked system.

At Eaglescliffe Gas, we have vast experience in carrying out local power flushing in Teesside homes, so your heating system can perform optimally. Call us today on 01642 895 655 or click the link below to find out more.

What Is Power Flushing?

Central heating water slowly corrodes the inside of radiators and steel pipework. The result is magnetite, a black iron sludge that settles in radiators, clogs pipework and collects in the boiler's heat exchanger and pump.

Power flushing connects a high-flow pump to your system and circulates cleaning chemicals at low pressure and high velocity. The sludge is loosened, agitated and flushed out radiator by radiator. The system is then refilled with clean water and a corrosion inhibitor.

Signs Your Central Heating System Needs Power Flushing

  • Radiators cold at the bottom or in patches, even when the top is hot

  • Some radiators taking far longer to warm up than others

  • Black or brown water when you bleed a radiator

  • Banging, whooshing or kettling noises from the boiler

  • The boiler cutting out, losing pressure or breaking down repeatedly

  • Pipes hot but radiators cool, suggesting blocked flow.

Not every cold radiator needs a flush. A single radiator that won't heat, for example, could be a stuck pin in the TRV or trapped air.

At Eaglescliffe Gas, our experienced heating engineers check the simple causes first, and only recommend a central heating power flush when the system needs one.

Our Power Flush Service, Step by Step

  1. Assessment

We check radiator temperatures and system condition, and confirm a flush is the right fix.

  2. Power Flush

The pump connects to your system. Each radiator is flushed individually, with agitation on stubborn cold spots.

  3. Refill the System

Clean water and inhibitor go in, and radiators are bled and balanced.

  4. Final Check

We test every radiator heats evenly before signing the job off.

Expect the work to take most of a day. Larger systems, or systems with heavy sludge, can take longer.
